Peptide vaccines are vaccines prepared by chemical synthesis techniques based on the amino acid sequence of a known or predicted antigenic epitope in the pathogen antigen gene.
Traditional vaccines are generally prepared in two ways: one is attenuated vaccines that can induce immunity but do not cause disease, such as yellow fever, poliomyelitis, measles vaccines or BCG vaccines; Another type is inactivated vaccines (such as pertussis bacilli, rabies virus, typhoid bacilli). Peptide vaccines, due to their complete synthesis, do not have the problem of toxicity rebound or incomplete inactivation.
